whats the best way to buy a computer?

Hard Drive: 1 x 500 GB - standard - Serial ATA-300 - 7200 rpm is that good memory space can i download hundreds of songs with out my computer being slow or what size hard drive should i get gb are those like giggs or something like that
ok also whats the best size ram to get when buying a computer
what about prossesor what kind and size should i get

A hard drive has nothing to do with the speed of your computer. RAM and CPU are the 2 biggest influences of speed

A hard drive is designed to store information, like your MP3's , and yes 500GB is plenty, it is by most standards a relitivly large drive. GB= gigabyte or gigs.

Almost any new CPU will be fast enough these days, and I dont mean to start a processor war but I do prefer AMD over Intel for the simple fact they are cheaper, both make great CPU's.

RAM with Vista, I would go no less than 2GB

Disregard what Mark said, more = better. I have over 4,000GB on my network server, and I am constantly adding more space, for a typical user a few hundred gigs will be more than enough.
