Rca Male

How do you remove a broken male ended rca from a female jack?
I have an amplifier that one of the rca plugs was removed improperly. It left the long metal part in the jack itself on the amp. Can, and if so how do you get it out?
One of two ways.
1.) Insert a small screw in the hole, like a drywall screw (not a general purpose screw that looks like a drywall screw), and slowly turn it as you pull the tip out.
2.) Open up the amp and look inside. To my surprise, the amp this happened to me on had access to the RCA jack from the back. I was able to insert a utility knife from the back and push it out.
