Pyle Pro 1000 Watt DJ Amp hooked up to 2 Peavey 300 watt speakers, is that safe?

I have a Pyle Pro 1000 Watt Dj Amp and I also have 2 older Peavey speakers that are rated at 300 watts each. These speakers are very large as they are older but in great shape as they have not been used much. I hooked everything up and they sound great and get pretty loud, but I don't wanna blow them so I need another opinion. THANKS

It really is no problem as long as you don't push that amp into distortion. It should have "peak" or "limit" lights on each channel - you need to keep an eye on those when you are playing it loud.

That amp is probably not 1000 watts per channel into 8 ohms anyway. It is probably putting out less than 300 watts per channel into 8 ohms.

I have been DJ'ing and running pro sound systems for over 20 years and I have never blow a speaker because I am very careful not to push the amp into distortion.
