Midi Controller

What do I need to use a midi controller as a keyboard?
I'm interested in buying this midi controller http://www.amazon.com/M-Audio-Keystation-88ES-Midi-Controller/dp/B0006676A0/ref=pd_cp_MI_2
But what do I need to do to play it like a regular piano/keyboard?
You would need a tone module or tone generator ( Same thing ) Your controller will send commands to the generator. The generator will then generate the tone or voice. Here's a good example.
