Can I use a sound system as an amp for a microphone?
I have a microphone and I want to record onto my computer but the sound is too quiet. I need an amp but dont want to buy one, can i use a sound system as an amp?
You simply need to increase the "Line in" level when you record, you don't need any amplifier. You need to increase it to the level that is high enough, but does not distort the input. Some audio capture s/w have a VU meter that helps you define the input level.
