Fish Audio
Car audio question...?

Hiya!
I've just got my first car and would like to kit it up with some decent speakers, having already got some pretty good speakers in the front i decided to get some in the back. After fishing around for a while I decided on these speakers and this amplifier.

What i was wondering is do i need a wiring kit of any kind to set it up, bearing in mind their is already two basic speakers in the back of my 2002 Vauxhall Corsa.
Thanks for your help
Trent

I'm not sure how big of a car the Corsa is, but I can assure you unless it's tiny your going to need more than 8ft of wire. As for ground, you don't need 3ft you need to have as short a ground as you can. 3ft can be fine, so can 10ft just make sure the power an ground wire are of the same size. You can buy a standard wiring kit, I'd get a 4 gauge kit that way if later you add a sub you won't have to rewire your car. The kits are fairly cheap, I'd go with knukoncepts. They are not super expensive and work well, i've been running knu wire in my ranger for a few years now.

As for the speakers and amp, I'm not in much of a position to comment as I've never heard of this company.

You might even want to skip getting back speakers, back speakers are really just fill. I took the back speakers out of my ranger, you don't need them with properly aligned front speakers. A small sub would fill in the bottom end, really make your music come alive. The common misconception is subs are just boom, a properly installed and tuned sub will bring your music to life.

Another thing on grounds, make sure you have a good connection. Strip all paint away from your grounding point, also check the connection with a multimeter. Test from the negative post on the battery to your grounding point, your looking for resistance of under 1Ohm the lower the better.
